This Privacy Policy explains how Vylora Studios ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the DMV Expert mobile application (the "Application").

The Application provides educational DMV practice and study content. Some features are free and some features may be available through optional in-app purchases or subscriptions ("Premium"). The Application is not a government application.

1. No Government Affiliation

DMV Expert is operated by Vylora Studios, a private company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any federal, state, or local government agency, including any Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Transportation (DOT), or driver licensing authority.

Information in the Application is based on publicly available sources, official government materials, and user-facing study content. You should verify official requirements directly with the relevant government authority.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information when you use the Application.

A. Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address and approximate location derived from IP address
  • Device type, model, operating system, and app version
  • Unique device identifiers and app instance identifiers
  • Advertising identifiers, such as Google Advertising ID, where available
  • App usage data, including screens viewed, interactions, session activity, and feature usage
  • Crash logs, diagnostic information, and performance data

We do not collect precise GPS location data.

B. Analytics and Advertising Data

We use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and consent tools to understand app usage, improve performance, diagnose issues, measure ad performance, and display personalized or contextual ads where permitted by law and user settings.

C. Purchase and Subscription Data

If you purchase, subscribe to, restore, or use Premium, we and our service providers may process purchase-related information, including:

  • Google Play purchase tokens, receipts, transaction identifiers, product IDs, and entitlement status
  • Subscription status, renewal status, expiration dates, cancellation status, and refund-related status
  • RevenueCat app user identifiers and related technical metadata used to manage Premium access
  • Device and app information needed to validate purchases, prevent fraud, and restore access

Payments are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment card, bank account, or Google Play payment credential details.

D. Information You Voluntarily Provide

  • Email address, name, or other contact details if you contact us
  • Feedback, support messages, bug reports, and other communications you send to us
  • Information you include in reviews, inquiries, or requests related to privacy rights

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Application
  • Provide educational content and app features
  • Verify, activate, maintain, and restore Premium access
  • Process purchase and subscription status through Google Play and RevenueCat
  • Display advertisements to non-Premium users, where applicable
  • Measure app usage, ad performance, and feature performance
  • Monitor crashes, diagnose technical issues, and improve stability
  • Respond to support requests, feedback, and legal requests
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and policy violations
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations

4. Legal Bases for Processing

If you are located in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on one or more of the following bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Application, Premium access, purchase validation, support, and requested services.
  • Legitimate interests: to improve the Application, maintain security, prevent fraud, analyze performance, and communicate with users.
  • Consent: for personalized advertising, certain analytics, notifications, or other processing where consent is required.
  • Legal obligations: to comply with laws, regulatory duties, tax obligations, court orders, and valid legal requests.

5. Third-Party Services

The Application uses third-party services that may collect or process information under their own policies. These services may include:

RevenueCat helps us manage purchases, subscriptions, Premium entitlements, purchase restoration, and related subscription events. Google Play processes payments and manages user-facing purchase and subscription controls.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share information:

  • With service providers that operate, host, analyze, secure, advertise, or support the Application
  • With Google Play and RevenueCat to validate purchases, maintain Premium access, restore purchases, and prevent fraud
  • With analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and notification providers as described in this Privacy Policy
  • When required by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, or government request
  • To protect the rights, property, safety, and security of users, Vylora Studios, or others
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets

We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. However, advertising and analytics activities may be considered a "sale", "sharing", or "targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Where required, we provide applicable choices and honor legally required opt-out requests.

7. Advertising and Consent Choices

You can limit certain advertising and tracking activities by:

  • Using the privacy options available inside the Application, where shown
  • Disabling ad personalization in your device or Google settings
  • Resetting or deleting your advertising identifier where your device supports it
  • Adjusting notification permissions in your device settings
  • Uninstalling the Application

Some analytics, security, purchase validation, crash reporting, and operational processing may still occur where necessary to provide the Application, maintain Premium access, prevent fraud, or comply with legal obligations.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

  • Provide the Application and maintain Premium entitlement status
  • Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests
  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements
  • Prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms
  • Maintain security, crash, diagnostic, and analytics records according to provider settings and policies

Purchase and subscription records may be retained by Google Play, RevenueCat, and us as needed to validate purchases, restore access, process refunds or cancellations, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. Deleting app-related data may affect our ability to verify or restore Premium access, but it does not delete records that Google Play or other providers must retain under their own policies or legal obligations.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or opt-out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at DMVExpert@VyloraStudios.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. If your request relates to purchase history, subscriptions, or payment details controlled by Google Play, you may also need to contact Google Play directly.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, but some features may require certain information to function.

10. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use the Application only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Transfers

Information may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

13. Third-Party Links

The Application may link to third-party websites, including official government websites, Google Play, and support resources. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted by changing the "Last Updated" date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent. Continued use of the Application after an update means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
